Accidents at School

Every care is taken to make sure that children are properly attended to in the event of an accident.  Minor accidents, cuts, and bruises are treated by staff members who are first aid trained. Where a student sustains a serious injury they will be attended to in a professional manner and parents contacted in accordance with the gravity and urgency of the situation. Any bumps to the head are treated and the parents are contacted.  The school will, in extreme circumstances, ring directly for an ambulance whether the parents can be contacted or not, and then make contact with a parent. Where children are involved, we prefer to err on the side of caution. A record is maintained of all children who are treated in Sick Bay with a full accident report being completed for the more serious accidents.
