Blessed be the Sabbath
This week is our Sabbath week. I hope you and your family have enjoyed some extra time just being together and enjoying a little break from homework. The sabbath week in schools began as a tradition from our Jubilee year when as a diocese we reflected on ways to renew and recharge ourselves body and soul regularly.
Year 6 Retreat Day
Our Year 6 Retreat Day is today. We are very excited to be spending a special day of prayer, reflection and activities deepening our understanding and relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Confirmation
A reminder that the Parent/Child Formation evening will be held in person at St Monica’s Church this evening, Thursday 31August at 6.00pm. This session is a vital part of the preparation process. Students will need their completed preparation books and their retreat books from today at this formation evening. We keep the candidates from St Monica’s in our prayers as they prepare for this important sacrament.
Whole School Prayer
Our next whole school prayer time will be tomorrow, Friday 1 September, with Kindergarten leading us in praying for our Dads and special men who look after us. You are all invited to join us in giving thanks for our Dads at this whole school prayer time from 9:10am in St Monica’s Church.
St Monica’s Feast
What a fabulous Feast Day it was!!! The Mass in the morning was the perfect way to start our day as a Catholic School community and then we walked together, as in the footsteps of St Monica. Thank you to all the parents who helped with the smooth running of our walkathon. Congratulations to all the students who participated so prayerfully in Mass, special thanks to the readers and those who helped with the Mass parts.
